Art Director, Interactive
Description
mod7 is looking for an Art Director to create inspiring, inimitable, and award-winning digital design solutions, games and user experiences for our clients and products. Working under our Creative Director and directly with a solid team of developers, designers and others, the Art Director holds a senior-level position that demands a passion for craft and practice combined with an unrelenting aspiration to make every project excellent. The Art Director has a solid process and innate problem-solving abilities that consider audience, context, and message to form fresh insights. Minimum Requirements
Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of agency and/or interactive design experience. Formal design training is required along with a solid understanding of typography, graphic design, and interactive design. Experience in motion design, sound and video is an vital asset. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing concepts and designs for interactive story-telling experiences, games, online campaigns and mobile platforms. They will have a broad understanding of digital culture including social media, online communities, and video games. The Art Director is a master in the operation and standard industry conventions for the latest versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects. They have a solid understanding of the limitations and possibilities of the latest web technologies and best practices including HTML, JavaScript, Flash.
Experience
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in design or related
- 5+ years of agency and/or interactive design experience working with international brands
- Has at least 2+ years’ experience providing art direction to junior-level designers, production artists, and developers
- Has experience creating and working with information architectures, wireframes, GDDs, site maps, storyboards, user flows and other specification communication documents
- Has experience creating visual prototypes and motion design demos that clearly communicate functionality and behavior to developers, other team members, users and clients
- Can demonstrate experience creating presentations and pitches internally and to clients
Requirements
- Photoshop mastery for interactive design and solid skills with Illustrator, After Effects and Flash for interactive design (InDesign experience a plus)
- Extremely competent and comfortable working with various Office software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Visio.
- Comfortable jumping between PC and Mac platforms like a boss
- Wants to work with a small, tight team churning out amazing work like it’s no big deal
